Considerations Regarding the Triad of Sustainability in European Companies

Abstract:
Sustainability is very important for organizations. It is however difficult to quantify, since it has a voluntary nature. Initiatives in terms of sustainable development bring a long term benefit. The paper analyzes the three-dimensional concept. In terms of methodology, it was used a sample of listed European companies, from different sectors and were analyzed the disclosed annual reports of sustainability. Were also observed other aspects disclosed voluntarily by selected companies. The issues which were noted in these reports are: eco-efficiency, dialogue with stakeholders, corporations’ citizenship, human capital development etc. The relevance of the study is that it provided a homogeneous image on a heterogeneous field. It is noted that companies still give great importance to this issue which they consider as an investment generating medium or long term benefits.\r\n
