Abstract:
This article presents a research on the financial engineering practices, their performance methods, motivation and how their users act. Based on a survey conducted in the companies doing business within Romania, several ideas were outlined on their knowledge and practical application, the risks undertaken and the substantiation for their use. Thus, the main reasons to use accounting manipulations and the factors influencing these decisions were outlined, detecting the vulnerable moments for the company, people who initiate them and benefit from their use, and the extent to which they are willing to expose the company.\r\n
